Important Information About George Mason Club Football
George Mason Club Football is a recognized Club Sport within George Mason Recreation and competes in the National Club Football Association (NCFA). While we carry the “club” designation, the team competes at a high level within the NCFA against other universities nationwide, supported by structured practices, dedicated coaching, and intercollegiate competition.
A few important things to understand:
The program is not affiliated with NCAA athletics and does not offer athletic scholarships.
Admission to George Mason University is a separate process and is not connected to participation on the team.
Students seeking financial aid or merit-based awards should contact the appropriate university offices. Coaches and staff are not involved in these processes.
The team typically practices three to four days per week during the season, so student-athletes must be able to manage their academic responsibilities alongside athletic commitments.
Our Student-Athlete Values
George Mason Club Football looks for players who embrace the values that make our program successful:
Team-First Mentality – Putting the team’s success above individual recognition.
Commitment – Showing up and honoring the time required to compete.
Academic Responsibility – Staying on track in the classroom.
Work Ethic – Bringing effort and discipline to everything you do.
Respect – Competing with sportsmanship on and off the field.
The George Mason Club Football program offers a meaningful opportunity for students to continue playing the sport they love, develop as leaders, and gain a genuine college football experience, all while keeping academics at the forefront of their Mason journey.
